Now in their sixth generation, A. E. Schmidt Billiards has been involved in the American Billiard industry since 1850, and remains today one of a very few companies to build rather than import. Schmidt hand-crafts tables one at a time in their St. Louis factory.
Bankshot has been a Schmidt dealer for many years and we would not sell any other brand of new tables alongside our restored antiques. We know Schmidt tables to be the best-built, nicest looking and finest playing made today.
Since all tables are made to order, you can have as much input as you like, from simply selecting the cloth and stain color on a standard oak or maple model, to choosing an alternate wood species such as walnut, quartered oak, cherry, mahogany, or exotic woods such as sapele or shedua. There are options for rail sights, rail contours and pocket treatments. You could have a table designed from scratch just for you. Schmidt builds tables in all the sizes, including the now hard-to-find “oversize 8” (previously known as “regulation 8”).
Bankshot’s many years of experience as billiard mechanics, and with Schmidt tables in particular insures a careful and precise installation – critical to performance. Bankshot specializes in a high level of customer service. We will be glad to guide you through the choices in ordering a table and work with Schmidt to provide samples.
